What: Hold signs and engage pedestr=
ians in support of alternatives to animal models as research, support empat=
hy for animals in laboratories.

WWAIL is=20
every year in April. Please join In Defense of Animals during World Week
for Animals in Laboratories (WWAIL) to speak out against the abhorrent=20
use of animals in testing and research.Please join with thousands of other =
people across the country this week, including many doctors, scientists and legislators, in calling for an end to th=
e use of animals as research subjects.

Marshall St. is at the epicenter of animal laboratories in Syracuse.=20
Patrons of the Marshall Square Mall and shops are not aware that=20
thousands of laboratory animals languish withing walking distance.=20
Within just one square mile surrounding the Mall are Syracuse=20
University, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and the Institute for Human
Performance. all of whom conduct research on hundreds of mice, rats,=20
primates, and other animals, using student tuition fees and taxpayer=20
money.
Join SARO for a public awareness event. We need people=20
to hold signs and support our activists who will be living the lonely=20
life of a caged lab animal for the duration of the event.

We will carpool down to visi=
t the=20
rescued animals at Farm Sanctuary in beautiful Watkins Glen, NY. $15 per
person covers gas/tolls and admission, and SARO funds will cover the=20
rest. Snacks and microwaveable meals are for sale in the gift shop, but=20
bringing a bag lunch is recommended.. Wear boots or sneakers for muddy=20
