Hello! You may have seen the news that on Tuesday morning, the Syracuse P=
olice Department Animal Cruelty Investigator, Officer Becky Thompson, was c=
alled to pick up a dog that some neighbors on Smith Lane in Syracuse had he=
ard crying throughout the night. It had been abandoned, left chained betwe=
en 2 dumpsters, and by the time Officer Thompson got there, the dog was dea=
d. Our Cuse Pit Crew people have named the dog =93Jax=94. Jax was in =93t=
errible shape=94, had been starved and horribly neglected. No one seems to=
know at this point who owns the dog but Officer Thompson, along with other=
officers, are canvassing the area asking for information. Animal Alliance =
of Greater Syracuse and Cuse Pit Crew have made flyers to be passed out in =
the Smith Lane neighborhood (in the outer SU/outer Comstock area of Syracus=
e). We plan to gather at 9:30am this coming Saturday morning (10/26/13) at=
the East Colvin Street entrance to Oakwood Cemetery,. People can park on =
the streets in the Comstock area and walk to the entrance. From there, we =
will take sections of the neighborhood=85and go door-to-door with the attac=
hed flyers. If you are able to help with passing out flyers in the Smith La=
ne neighborhood on Saturday, your help will be greatly appreciated. Printi=
ng out some of the flyers will also help. If you can do so, please use the =
pdf version as it prints more proportionally. We are offering a reward lead=
ing to the capture and conviction of Jax=92s killer. Donations towards tha=
t reward are also being accepted. This continues to happen in our area=85w=
ith many cases never even making the media. The cruel abandonment and murd=
er of our community=92s animals needs to stop. We need to take a stand for=
